Prof. Dr. Birgit Baum
Associated Consultant
Prof. Dr. Birgit Baum has been an associate consultant for CHE Consult since 2022. She advises universities and scientific institutions, companies and associations. Her focus is on competence transfer as well as on the design of the early phases of technology-oriented innovations.
Her particular subject focus:
- front end technology-oriented innovations
- Workshop moderation, especially creativity workshops
- competence-based teaching
- Foundation and further development of universities
- Strategy and organizational development
Prof. Dr. Birgit Baum has been working as a freelancer for more than 25 years. After studying physics in Bonn, she completed postgraduate studies in economics at the ETH Zurich, where she subsequently earned a doctorate in technology management. For more than 12 years, parallel to her freelance work, she held a 50% C3 professorship “Business Creation, Technology Management and Transfer” at the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences, Remagen location. Ms. Baum brings with her many years of experience in the conception, development and management of study programs as well as in the management of continuing education institutions. She currently teaches Technology & Innovation Management, Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management and Internet of Things in several Master’s programs.
