CHE – Centre for Higher Education Development Consult GmbH is a spin-off of the CHE Gemeinnütziges Centrum für Hochschulentwicklung GmbH (a non-profit, limited company). Since 2001, the consulting company has been working with higher education institutions, research institutes and science authorities that wish to increase their performance through strategic projects, thereby preparing themselves for new challenges. In doing so, we remain committed to the idea of the "university unbound," developed by Detlef Müller-Böling in the publication "Die entfesselte Hochschule." Our basis is close and confidential co-operation with our customers with whom we want to reach the objectives supported by both parties.

Managing directors of CHE Consult are Dr. Christian Berthold (from October 2001) and Yorck Hener (from August 2008), both of them with many years of experience in advising higher education institutions and ministries in all aspects of higher education development and steering as well as in conducting scientific study projects about manifold aspects of higher education. The partners of CHE Consult are Prof. Dr. Detlef Müller-Böling (main partner) and Dr. Christian Berthold. CHE Consult is based in Dortmund. Employees of CHE Consult GmbH are silent partners.
