CHE managing director Dr Christian Berthold has commented on the motions put forward by political groups at a hearing at a meeting of the Landtag (legislative assembly) of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). The hearing took place during a debate on the reform of NRW’s Higher Education Act. "From the CHE’s point of view, the most important point is to safeguard HEI autonomy and ensure organisational calm," said Dr Berthold.

Increasing heterogeneity among students requires HEIs to manage diversity actively. In a joint article for the journal "Qualität in der Wissenschaft" (quality in science), CHE Consult project manager Lukas Bischof and Brankica Assenmacher of the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) highlight the implications for quality assurance.

TU Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and FU Berlin have been promoting highly qualified female academics en route to professorships with the ProFiL programme since January 2004. ProFiL stands for “Professionalisierung für Frauen in Forschung und Lehre” – the professionalisation for woman in research and teaching. CHE Consult has been supporting ProFiL for many years with workshops on the topic of higher education management and steering. Another round of seminars involving almost 40 young women academics is currently taking place in Berlin.

The OHM became the Technische Hochschule Nürnberg on 22 March 2013. The Technische Hochschule title is a new development in Bavaria. CHE Consult supported the TH Nürnberg in the application procedure.
